It’s summer time and what better way to spend it than listening to some excellent bangers! Dubstep is the prominent genre of the moment in the American EDM scene, and while this list isn’t the final “best of” list that we will have at the end of the year, these are the best dubstep track thus far of 2012.

Skream – Gritty

Skream to some is the grandfather of Dubstep. However you view him, he helped shape the genre into what it is today. ‘Gritty’ is an excellent banger from this long time producer. The bass is all over the place, bouncing back and forth from steady to “gritty.”

NumberNin6 – Where’s the Drop?

Being on of the most versatile producers out there, NumberNin6 takes this hit in another direction. ‘Where’s the Drop’ infuses reggae back into the dubstep sound. Keeping the bass heavy and the overall feel filthy.

Baauer – Harlem Shake

Infusing Trap with Dubstep, Baauer creates something extremely catchy. Many people will argue whether or not this is Dubstep, the thing you can’t argue is how infectious it is.

12th Planet, Skrillex, Kill the Noise – Burst

Easily one of my favortie tracks of the year. Three of the biggest names in the industry have made a catchy banger that flows very well. This is the only time the word “Swag” will fly with me. It may be repetitive to some, but the crowd will be moving once this is dropped.

Krewella – One Minute

Krewella has been one of the best surprises of the year! Their debut EP contained almost all bangers. This song is a testament to that, it goes hard but than slows down before blowing your ears up again. Expect to hear more from these guys really soon.

Zeds Dead – OH NO

One of the years first releases is also one of the best to date. ‘OH NO’ is relaxed banger that sets the mood just right. Zeds Dead has been slowly rising to the top and with the release of the “Adrenaline’ EP, they have almost made it. The entire EP could have easily made it on this list but ‘OH NO’ takes the cake.

Virus Syndicate & SkisM – Like This

Infusing some of the catchiest rap vocals with great synth leads, this banger had to make the list! Both artist due a great job mixing their styles, and the end result couldn’t be better.

Excision & Downlink – Headbanga

One of the catchiest basslines released this year! The song is gritty and heavy. Like the title says, you’ll be throwing your head around for sure. Can’t wait to see what both artists have in store for the future.

Sub Focus – Falling Down

Released twice this year, ‘Falling Down’ is one of the most lighthearted bangers ever. Everything from the synth to the drop had a unique feel to it. Even though it doesn’t hit hard, this song will still get the party going.

Flux Pavillion – Daydreamer

Flux is back and better than ever. His past hits ‘Ican’t stop’ and ‘Bass Cannon’ were amongst some of the best tracks released last year. But ‘Daydreamer’ is a new breed of banger.

Skrillex & Damian Marley – Make It Bun Dem

Legendary reggae artist teams up with the worlds most famous EDM producer? The results are a catchy dubstep track with roots heavily planted in reggae, check this out!

Rusko – Dirty Sex

Rusko’s latest album contained almost all bangers. But few of them stood out significantly. ‘Dirty Sexy’ is an ultra catchy tune that will be stuck in your head instantly.

Knife Party – Centipede

Last year we saw the form of Knife Party, this year we see them take over the EDM world. Their latest release ‘Rage Valley’ blew up everywhere and with good reason. Every song contained heart convulsing bass and ‘Centipede’ is the standout track!

Now it’s your turn! What are your favourite dubstep tracks of 2012?
