Aphex Twin just shared his first new release in 13 years, and it’s everything you’re hoping for. His older work has achieved infinite respect from all ends of the electronic music community, and judging by the first single, his upcoming LP should see the producer’s lengthy reign over all things weird and glitchy continue.
In a rare interview with Rolling Stone, Richard D. James describes his life as relatively detached from the rest of the world… living in a small town of 300, writing off cell phones completely, and having little to no idea of how big dance music has gotten as of late. If lack of outside influence is behind the twisted creations he releases upon the world, I hope he never hears another record not labeled Aphex Twin.
The album can be pre-ordered here.
