All my friends know about my love/hate relationship with ‘Stereo Love’. While I do have a soft spot for Eurodance (I mean come on Better Off Alone right?!) this is the most overplayed track of all-time, especially here in Toronto where I sarcastically refer to it as the “National Anthem of Shawarma Shops everywhere” – I’m thinking of trademarking that phrase so don’t even think about it. Anyway I digress. LA based Japanese producer Renko gives Edward Maya a helping hand in ushering the song back into the mainstream with a delicious tropical house edit (thanks Renko………) that features an amazing saxophone and an extra layer of depth with the strings darting in and out around the chorus. While this song is absolutely still on my **** list Renko may have just tipped it back into favour with this groovy remix.
