The well traveled NYC pop/alternative artist Ori Rakib – otherwise known as IRO – is doing things his way…and it’s sounding pretty good. After independently releasing his debut self-titled EP, the lead single “Sun” quickly built a buzz on YouTube and Soundcloud and has drawn comparisons to current alt-kings Hozier and Milky Chance. The track subtly touches on a number of different musical styles, and has the potential to find a home in pop and even electronic audiences. IRO worked with the the talented Noam Akrabi in the studio on the new EP, and claims the experience was nothing short of amazing.

“When there are good vibes with people you are working with and you allow each other that airtime to give their input – even when there are disagreements – you will be surprised at what kind of amazing things come out,” says Rakib.

IRO spent much of his upbringing in California, lived in Israel and Germany, and eventually ended up in New York City. Priding himself on…well, being himself, the talented songwriter has exposed himself to the music community in hopes that people will find a connection. It seems to be working.
