The Alchemist Twists with Maxwell
This song was so good I had to share it. As a child Maxwell’s albums were gold to me. The Neo Soul movement in 90s that included artists like Maxwell, India Arie, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild etc. spoke to me, hell it still speaks to me today. The Alchemists production has always been tight and this track benefits from his production style, Maxwells soulful tone and Twista’s rapid fire lyricism. I can’t help but continue to hope that Hip Hop like this makes its resurgence over the next year and Neo Soul artists come back inspired by the soulful direction pop music in the UK has moved towards.
This is an awesome song, its great Hip Hop. I’ve tossed in Jay-z latest as well because I think its a solid song by a more reputable mainstream artist that is also heading in a positive direction.
