The name Aidan Carroll may be somewhat new to you, but he’s certainly accomplished quite a lot in his career to date. He has toured internationally with Grammy-winning powerhouse vocalist Lisa Fischer, jazz singer-songwriter Melody Gardot, and blues rock powerhouse Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds. He has also produced for a variety of different artists and worked with a vast spectrum of producers & songwriters, including Zhu, Liana Bank$, Frex, and Melissa McMillan, to name a few.
This week, the multi-faceted R&B/soul artist released his latest offering “I Used to Party,” which will make you want to kick up your feet, crack open a cold one and spark up a fat blunt. It’s got that sweet future-funk, neo-soul vibe – somewhere between Mayer Hawthorne, Frank Ocean, and even Lewis Taylor. Emerging rapper Mari is also featured on the track with a verse of his own, which kicks things up a notch just when you think it might be winding down.
Keep an eye out for Aidan’s new album The Other Side, due out later this year. For now, enjoy “I Used to Party” below.
