Sydney-based singer/songwriter/producer (and all around talented human being) Nick Pes has just released ‘California’ the first single from his upcoming EP. On a cerebral level this track was inspired by, you guessed it, California and Nick’s use of the “land of dreams” state as a metaphor to provide us a message about relationships is certainly one I can get behind. From a musical perspective the 80s inspired beat drives the summery, nostalgic charm of this track while Nick’s voice serves as a calming presence through the ebb and flow of California’s misty atmosphere.
