Time Festival is finally here! Known for showcasing a wide range of musical talent over the years, Embrace is bringing back Time Festival better than ever this Saturday, August 15, 2015. Time Festival will take place at Fort York, just a stone’s throw from Lakeshore and Bathurst for those familiar with the downtown Toronto area. In the past, musical acts such as Skream, Diplo, Benga, Crystal Castles, Flume, Jon Hopkins, Kaytranada and Grimes have graced the stage of Time Festival. The best thing about Time Festival has always been the diverse selection of musical talent Embrace has brought to Toronto. Headlining this year will be South-African hip-hop stars Die Antwoord, Canadian songwriter and producer Mac DeMarco, eclectic psychedelic pop rocker Ariel Pink, BADBADNOTGOOD, Ryan Hemsworth, and a whole slew of musicians brimming with good vibes. Starting from noon to the late evening, Torontonians have the chance to party all day! So grab your sunscreen, grab your friends, and head over to Fort York this Saturday to be a part of Time Festival history.
Hailing from Cape Town, Yolandi Visser, Ninja, and DJ Hi-Tek AKA Die Antwoord have smashed their way into the music industry with their euphoria inducing, fast- paced, alternative hip hop sound. Known for their take it or leave it attitude and their Zef counterculture image, Die Antwoord is going to tear the stage this year at Time Festival.
McBriare Samuel Lanyon DeMarco, other wise known as Mac DeMarco is a young, yet incredibly experienced indie rock musician hailing from British Columbia. Known for his album Salad Days, and his crooning, Devendra Banhart-esque voice, Mac DeMarco is going to melt some hearts this weekend at Time Festival.
Singer, song-writer, and producer Ariel Pink is best known for his eclectic sounding music. A pioneer of DIY culture throughout the 90’s, Ariel Pink’s lo-fi sound is unmatched by anyone.
Toronto Natives BADBADNOTGOOD needs no introduction. Know best for their experimental hip hop, jazz influenced music, this talented trio is going to kill it this year at Time Festival. They have collaborated with the likes of Earl Sweatshirt, Frank Ocean, and Ghostface Killah.
Halifax native Ryan Hemsworth is bringing his special brand of hip-hop, electronic music this year at Time Festival. Best known for his delicate, uplifting productions, he is sure to please the crowd this weekend at Fort York. Ryan Hemsworth has worked with artists such as Tinashe, Cat Power, Frank Ocean, and 2014 Time Festival headliner Grimes.
