I’ve been on that Jamie xx tip all week after catching him at Bestival and finally getting my hands on In Colour so I was pleasured to hear this remix from an underrated cut on the album. I’ve always admired Jamie’s ability to balance an almost maximalist style of production around otherwise downtempo electronica (see Loud Places) so Samuel’s remix had me feeling the same sort of way. With birds in the background, smooth vocal edits Samuel manages to transform 90 seconds of Jamie xx magic into a full three minutes of hauntingly surreal soundscapes.
