I’ll write about almost anything I think sounds good but nu disco will always have a special place in my heart so when I woke up this morning and did my usual routine: brushed my teeth, checked my Twitter feed, checked my SoundCloud feed I was pleasantly surprised to see a new Tobtok remix awaiting me. A lot of people don’t know this about Tobtok but he actually was diagnosed with cancer in late 2012 but recently celebrated a full year of cancer-free remission which makes the fact that the whole time he was still out there pushing tracks for his fans all the more impressive. His latest project, a remix of “Arms Around Me” is a true throwback to the funky disco age of the 70 which is sure to have you dancing all night. Tobtok’s use of soft piano chords and string rifts atop a funky bass line reminiscent of the 70s will have you scrambling all over the house looking for that fake afro and platform shoes you thought you lost from three Halloweens ago!
