Listen to Deadmau5 – The Veldt

Deadmau5 is something of a visionary in the world of EDM. He’s achieved widespread fame, yes, but no one can say it’s because of selling out. In fact, it would be more accurate to say that Joel Zimmerman doesn’t really give a shit what other people think. He does what he loves, and his passion for his music is always apparent in his tracks. When you can feel the artist’s emotions through their music, you know they’re doing something right.

The track he released yesterday, “The Veldt”, is no exception. His straightforward beats and echoey bass have a distinctive vibe, never confusing, always repetitive, and 100% hypnotic. “The Veldt” is one of his chillest songs yet, it’s almost 9 minutes of swirling melodies and bouncing synths, and while it may not be his most complex work, I find it to be quite enjoyable. Let me know what you think! Also, there are rumors he has another full-length album in the works…
