Mickey Factz has been releasing mixtapes since 2006, and is currently working on his first album. He found his first major success in 2008 with the release of his mixtape The Leak Vol.1: The Understanding, wherein he leaked one song a week for 17 weeks on Myspace. Factz’s song-per-week release strategy was also used for The Leak, Vol.2: The Inspiration,[4] which contains guest appearances by Drake, Travie McCoy, and Tanya Morgan, and in 2009 he was named one of XXL’s “Freshmen 10”.
thedarkphoenix#ALPHA is Factz’ second most recent mixtape, released earlier this year. His intelligent and often introspective lyricism is paired with unconventional rhythms and beats, ranging from indie rock to Justice’s “Let There Be Light”. Factz has just released his seventh mixtape, “I’m Better Than You”, for free on his site here.
