The Biggest R&B Hit of the 80s is Back
I posted a track from this DJ mix the other day, called Fabriclive 39, but this absolutely blew my mind when I heard it again yesterday afternoon and I’ve been dieing to post it since. A bit of the effect is lost posting it by itself, because it is lead in to by a ridiculously good mix of Swing Set by Jurassic 5. The end of the song is a mix-out that leads in to some D Nice (“who gets laid? the chicken, or the egg?”)
Everyone needs to get this mix.

The first time I heard this song, outside of a record store, was at a house party last summer 2008 and everyone lost their shit singing along! The second time was last week at Super Dyanamite Soul @ The Augusta House. Paul E. Lopez has an edit of this track with the vocals laid in and everyone lost their shit again! There are soo many fuckin’ brass bands killing it lately!! It fuckin’ weird to see an explosion of brass bands lately but I fuckin’ love it!!!! Bass drums and horns!! That’s all I need. Fuck a guitar. unless it’s playin a nice chicka chicka reggae vibe in the backgroud the it can stay.
