A Billboard premiere is no joke, but somehow King Deco managed to pull that off without me ever having heard of her in the past. Skeptical as I was it took about three seconds for the song to play before I realized that they had a gem on their hands. “Castaway” is the kind of indie pop song that perfectly balances its tropical influence, courtesy of steel drums, with King Deco’s own sultry vocals to create the perfect easy-listening experience.
