Of the two remixes I’ve truly loved of this Jamie XX single the two couldn’t be more different. While Eekkoo’s deft minimalist touch left me, and many others, hypnotized; Theatre of Delay’s maximalist style featuring an interesting vocal samples both at the start of the record and sprinkled throughout paired with glitchy synths and delicious arpeggios. This is one of the most interesting reinvention’s of a Jamie XX songs I’ve heard in awhile – so much so that it’s been about 30 minutes and I’m still not quite sure what “genres” to tag!
