Jacques Greene is quickly becoming one of the hottest electronic producers in the world. No, I’m not exaggerating, this Montréal native has been on the rise ever since the 2011 release of his R&B-house chef-d’oeuvre ‘Another Girl’ EP. Last year, Greene made waves with his fantastic ‘Ready’ EP, a guest appearance on Katy B‘s highly acclaimed ‘Danger’ EP.
Even more recently, Greene put together an hour-long mix for the ultra hip music/fashion magazine and blog TheFADER. Featured in said mix was a deep but dreamy, untitled house tune that captured the attention of quite a few listeners. Today, Mr. Greene identified the track in question as “Quicksand”, uploading a full version to his Soundcloud for all to hear. With its breezy atmosphere, twinkling synths, and cooing vocal samples, “Quicksand” is easily the most laidback Jacques Greene production to date. It’s also one of the best.
