It’s my sad responsibility to report that last night, DJ Mehdi – 34, died after falling from the roof of his home in France. Reportedly he was hosting a party when the roof gave way. Two others were seriously injured in the accident.

Mehdi was an incredible musician, and is going to be missed greatly. The man was an institution within Ed Banger Records, one half of Carte Blanche – whom I am privileged to have seen just last weekend – and at his core, a musician whose work truly brought light in to the world.

My humble farewell is part of an outpouring of sympathy from fans and the world’s top musicians today. In a show of respect, the Parisian Ed Banger stronghold ‘Social Club’ announced on their facebook page “We have made the exceptional decision to close the club tonight. An evening of silence in honor of the artist.”
