In light of Valentines day and the often warm moments we share with those we love, I wanted to put up this mix I did for a new Yoga Studio that I am involved with in Toronto Canada: NYood Yoga. Nowadays many of us want heavy hitting bass, fast beats and hi’s that hit us hard in our core. In my view music has been getting more and more extreme, more and more violent but most of all more and more soulless. This mix series at NYood and the Yoga studio itself is about getting back to the love. The happy side of things. The feel good aspect of music.
Putting together this mix I tried to pay homage to an approach to music which was at its height in the 80s. An approach which recognized that music was about positivity, about looking into the sunset and feeling like anything is possible.
