Dave: Strictly speaking it wasn’t Miley Cyrus that made this remix – it was Hathbanger that sampled her and Biggie. Further to your comment though, nothing is sacred – remixes can be good or bad yes. In this case the artist succeeded in creating an interesting and well produced interpretation of the original two tracks, and the enjoyment that thousands of people who have read this post and downloaded the track so far are evidence that his efforts were worthwhile.

Your offence is, frankly, misguided. I imagine it originates from a fallacious notion that the remixer was trying to “improve” on Biggie’s original track.

No surprise this song scored huge on hype – its crossover hip-pop perfection. Gangster Rappers today + Miley have the same major fanbase: 8-16 yr old girls (see 50Cent/Drake/the Jonas Borthers fanpages for proof of this phenomenon). So anyone who falls outside of this demographic (of 8-16 yr old girls) should understand that the Ratatat version is better, and that this one was not made for the critics and the heads, but for the tweens and twats…and although this (Hathbanger mix) is a decent mash-up, anyone who actually lived through/apreciated Biggie’s come-up/career will scowl at the thought of mixing miley and biggie. if the two (Miley & Biggie) would have ever even been in a room together in life, let alone a studio, biggie would have smoked some crack, then a blunt, then raped miley, then robbed her, then raped her again, then smoked more crack, then bounced mumbling verses from “who shot ya”…Not cus hes a bad guy or anything, but just because thats what gangster rap was all about and thats how the fuck biggie would roll.

Keep Miley off the blogs homeys. they weren’t made for her. period. The blogs were made for the anti-Miley, because its tough enough to escape her shit with the TV and Radio against us, fight the powers at be, and never blog anything Miley again, regardless of how good it is, or how many hurtbags might enjoy it.
