Curtis Santiago: Artist, Musician, Social Commentator

Curtis Santiago hosted the Redbull 3Style event at Circa this past Friday during Canadian Music Week. We had the chance to talk to him at Ultra Supper Club in Toronto before the show. As a Canadian artist and musician, currently based in Toronto, Curtis has had the chance to work accross the country and tour all over the world. Since we spoke with him, he has opened for Raphael Saadiq at The Phoenix Concert Hall and has begun a project with fellow artist Pamela Masik to create a piece for the upcoming Olympic games. Check out the whole interview, and hear what this multifaceted artist has to say about music, art, and how they will be affected by today’s economic climate.

The first song is off of his album TKO, check out his Myspace to hear more samples from this album. The two covers are part of the mixtape he mentions in the interview, it is presented in collaboration with Gakcity.com Thepressplayshow.com & Mick Boogie. I just have to say that his version of Sex On Fire is absolutely brilliant and easily the best cover I have heard. I certainly wish Curtis all the best, he certainly deserves it. Look forward to his video blog of the the South by South West Music Festival in Austin Texas, in which he is participating, here on Salacious Sound.

All the Best,
David King
