It’s only been a few months since Deniro dropped part one of The Patriarch. For part two he’s stepped up his lyrical game. On songs Come Home and Everything Is Ok Deniro opens up the most about struggling with vices. The thing that separates Deniro from every other MC is that he feels human. People like 2Chainz are fun to listen to, but when you listen to Deniro you get an emotional attachment to his work. That is a powerful thing to do as an artist. Every song on The Patriarch 2 feels like a personal chapter in Deniro’s life story. The most powerful track is The Reasons, Deniro opens up about how he misses his brother and how his mother is struggling to get by.
Production wise Part 2 still has the hazy feel from Part 1. Ryan Hemsworth produced the track Separate, which features JMSN and it’s the best track on here. I’m really impressed that Deniro can put out two nearly flawless projects so close together. I can’t wait to see what else Deniro has in store for us in 2013!
