Our article yesterday on what does and doesn’t fit in the dubstep canon and the tendency of this particular genre to get more aggressive got me to thinking; assuming James Blake is right, if girls like 16bit are they actually men?

Jokes aside, I think that men and women DO tend to connect differently with music but I think it’s pretty foolish (and sexist, I might add) to boil down an entire genre as being “boy music” because it has aggressive basslines.
