Coming off a successful summer with his electropop/post-EDM hit “Our Goodbye” featuring Liv Kennedy and a viral remix of John Summit & Hayla’s “Shiver,” TATE SEDAR is set to heat up the fall with his remix of “Eat Sleep” by Deadmau5 & Kaskade’s iconic project Kx5, featuring singer-songwriter Richard Walters. The track, originally from a Kx5 remix competition last spring, emerges as a tech house and techno hybrid that takes listeners on a fresh journey through the evolving landscape of electronic music. In classic TATE fashion, the remix retains the core ethos of the original while connecting it to its lesser-known influences, like the complextro (or fidget house) popularized by early EDM trailblazers.

The seed of TATE’s remix was planted during a live set at Academy LA in summer 2023, where he played a mash-up preview of the breakdown before finalizing the track. The crowd reaction—illuminated by raised phone lights—proved he was onto something special. His use of an electric-piano breakdown paired with the remix’s unique, compelling lead chords left a lasting impact. Although the track didn’t win the Kx5 competition, TATE knew it had a timeless quality beyond any one contest or platform.
