There’s quite a lot of quality electro-pop – many configurations of it at that – coming out of Brooklyn. Unknown Caller, the moniker of producer & songwriter Alex Lichtenstein, is no exception. After dropping his debut “Sayonara” this past summer, he has returned with the incredibly groovy R&B-infused tune “See You Again,” which showcases hints of Honne, Neon Indian, and even Tom Misch.
“‘See You Again’ is about people and places that appear in your life – perhaps briefly, perhaps enduring – and impact your worldview in a way you don’t always realize in the moment,” he explains. “There’s something refreshing about the spontaneity of certain interactions, especially during a period where every connection is trackable. The meaning also parallels never being able to see a person again because of change, but there’s a certain beauty in remembering them as they once were.”
If you’re in NYC, check out Unknown Caller at Glamglare’s holiday party next Friday 12/7. If not, simply enjoy the track from wherever you are below.
