LA-based R&B/electro duo Vector Xing have stampeded into the blog-sphere with their debut track “Wild-Child.” The song sort of cascades in and out of various genres, and gives the listener plenty to think about through its many personalities. There is some obvious talent here with founding members Stevan Cablayan and Cameron McLain, who met at Princeton in 2006.
Cablayan spoke about the evidence of both R&B and electronic influences, saying – “Both genres aim at authenticity through blunt truthfulness and vulnerability, but they do so using different textures, instruments and ways of expression. Though on the surface they don’t have much in common, at their heart they tell the same stories.”
