Goths, noiseniks, and ravers unite!! The gloomy Canadian electronica duo Crystal Castles are returning to Toronto on November 4 with a few of their good chums in tow. The first single from the acclaimed duo’s third record dropped last month, elevating hype to a maximum and thus, making this show one of the most highly anticipated of 2012. Although, there is no release date for the record yet, it is likely that it will be out by the time November 4 rolls around. Regardless, the Kool Haus attendees will be treated to Crystal-Castles‘ typically frenetic sets and likely, the live debut of some new material.

Although Alice Glass and Ethan Kath are the obvious focal point of this show, they are not the only act to look forward to. Also included on the bill is former CC drummer Cameron Findlay performing under the moniker of his solo project, Kontravoid.  His ominous blend of cold-wave, synth-pop, and dance-punk is a perfect fit next to Crystal Castles’ chiptune-rave anthems. Kontravoid‘s “Native State” is the stand-out single from his debut full-length, released earlier this year. Watch the video below.

L.A. noise-rock quintet HEALTH are the second supporting act of the night. If you make it in time for their set (which I highly recommend you do) expect to have your eardrums assaulted. You may recognize these guys as the collaborators on CC’s breakthrough single “Crimewave” or, if you’re a video game nerd, as the composers of the score to ‘Max Payne 3’. Their live sets can shift from abrasive noise to distorted dance-pop to improvised percussion freak-outs. I urge you to check them out. If you’re still turning it over in your head, this video showcasing their live rendition of “Crimewave” will undoubtedly knock you off the fence.

Lastly, let us revisit the latest CC single “Plague” to get you in the mood. I know November 4 is a ways away but it’s never too early to start preparing for a show such as this one. Now is the time to think about stocking up on eyeliner, fishnets, and everything black leather.

Tickets are going fast so be sure to grab yours before it’s too late!! Do so right here.
