Diplo‘s love for music transcends the boundaries of genre. When he told me that he saw something special in Soulja Boy I was floored. When he mentioned that he reminded him of Punk Rock, at least in its subversion, I was impressed. The Free Gucci Mixtape offered numerous artists the chance to re-interpret one of Hip Hop’s most controversially elated individuals. Diplo is a musical pioneer, a prodigy in the androgyny of genre. This recent collaboration with the leader of the new school, Cudi, and the Doggfather of G-Funk is unexpected but not unsurprising. Mad Decent’s blog recently released the acapella and instrumental on their blog. In the comments I found a little gem. A remix by an artist named Subsector. Dubstep was the forerunner for break out genre of 2009, in 2010 it seems to have become a necessary part of the remix package for any single.  This Dubstep remix borders on 2-Step. Perhaps the production quality could use some work, but the music, the melody, the remix, is mesmerizing.
