Since the creation of Jedi Mind Tricks in 1996, producer Stoupe the Enemy of Man Kind has been dropping some of the sickest hip-hop beats ever to have graced the underground hip-hop community. In 2000, JMT released what is far and away their best album, Violent by Design. The CD was re-released in 2004 featuring a whopping 25 gritty tracks that blend dark and intense vocals with an absurd number of samples from popular movies and songs, to make a unique style that leaves the listener wanting more. Vocal contributions from underground powerhouses such as Esoteric, Planetary, and Sean Price make the album one of the most diverse productions I’ve ever heard. Personal favorites include the tracks I against I, Sacrifice, Retaliation Remix, and Untitled. Stoupe’s work on this album has been compared to the legendary RZA’s production of Wu-Tang classics like Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… and Liquid Swords. Definitely worth a listen!

Be sure to check out JMT’s myspace and listen to some tracks from their new album just released on November 11th!
