The Future of Electro-tech-hau5

Thats right you leeches, time to start suckin, cus the future of electro is here…and its nothing like what any of us expected…

Last time the future slapped us in the face, it came in the form of two rockstars, now known to all of us as Xavy & Gaspy. But that was years ago… centuries in blog-time. But do not fret. The future of Electro seems to have come a-knockin again…this time its got no tight leather jacket, its not speaking Francais, and there’s nothing epic about it at all. No my friends, this time, the future of Electro looks much different, older, wiser even. He has a receding hairline, he is a veteran of the industry at the age of 26, he is the type of dude somebody will have a really fucking hard time marketing cause he really doesn’t look too cool, and his name is Joey Youngman, better known as Wolfgang Gartner…henceforth known as “The Future of Electro-tech-hau5″.

Now don’t get it twisted: I’m not saying he will ever be nearly as popular as Justice…but what the fuck has popularity ever proved anyways? My high school crush was the most popular, and all that ever got her was herpes. Popularity passes, see, but herpes sticks 4 lyfe. Anyways, all I’m saying is that after what felt like a long drought in the Electro world of my lyfe, I’m starting to feel wet again. Peace to the Electro-drought of 2009…”I’m Wet 4 Wolfgang” – t-shirts coming soon.

Anyways, here’s to The Future of Electro-tech-hau5: this guy might be one of the most exciting producers in the world today. Go now and learn more! Hurry! Don’t blink – He’s makin’ moves and you just missed three of em’ while you read this last sentence, you epic loser…go! why are you styll reading and wasting time? Go to the Wolfgang. go now….

  1. Haha.. great post Cody. Wolfgang Gartner is the shit.

  2. You’re a piece of shit. never review music again and for god’s sake never ever EVER make a prediction of who will be good as Justice.

The fact of the matter is that I can still listen to cross as many times as I want because its an incredibly well made album from any aspect.

I don’t mean to be so offensive, but in 6 months time, if not sooner, your love for this song will fade and never truly come back.

  3. cheel a bit yo on the offensive there

  4. Hookshot, Clap and Flashback – all brilliant tracks, and have a distinctive sound that needn’t even be compared with the likes of Justice (even it’s just to stop the impassioned flaming from maple the psychic).

In six months time I predict you will be half a year older.

  5. This was a well written and balanced review, and the reference to Justice wasn’t even in relation to Wolfgang Gartner’s quality – only his popularity was compared to relative to Justice. Emphasis well written.. I like reading your shit Cody.

  6. cody lekush says:

I never said wolfgang was as good as Justice, i merely compared him to them in the same way that he might be “the next big thing” after a long time without great new artists popping up…

“I’m not saying he will ever be nearly as popular as Justice”

“all I’m saying is that after what felt like a long drought in the Electro world of my lyfe, I’m starting to feel wet again”

“this guy might be one of the most exciting producers in the world today.”

    fuck you maple. read better

  7. This is hard stuff. For a moment reminded me of Wippenberg (tech-trance guy), but more capricious-sounding. I like.

  8. maple has a point there…but Fuk yeah i can forget this song in 6 months it would becuz wolfgang gona take out some new killing shit…and ya not fed up with those crappy frenchis who think ther 2 famous…Fuk them wolgang rulz..his music makes ya dance hav fun..justice is like for cok suking peeps on extasy

  9. Maple… stop being a hater.. Wolfgang has been pumping out bangers for awhile now and even as Joey Youngman he was a legend.

  10. fire power is for sure one of the best hard electro tracks ive heard in a long time. shit, it might actually be one of the best the genre has to offer (top 20). I feel like really hard songs in general dont often have lasting value, you may like them a lot when you hear them but if they lack melodic elements they probably wont become classic. fire power has nice melodies in it and its hard as shit, so I think that this one will have some lasting value.

  11. codylekush says:

yeah…hooks speaks truth….and its true, in a year i wont be on this track as hard as i am now….but this post was about wolfgang, and not specifically to big up “fire power”, although i am fuckin lovin it….check out his other productions of late – the man is literally on fire.

  12. I’m liking Barletta and John Roman as well in terms of the “new” faces of electro.

  13. wolfgang is killing it right now thank god for some good electro coming out.

  14. Producer interview on Beatport blog from early last year:

    http://www.beatportal.com/feed/item/producer-interview-wolfgang-gartner-part-1/

Very cool if you like geeking out about synths.

  15. It sounds a bit like justice to me, specially to the stuff made for Dior Homme 09 blah. Great track by the way; the post, really fun to read.

  16. Yeah I’m really digging Wolfgang Gartner as well. I think most of the tracks that he’s coming out with lately are definitely some awesome Electro, you’re right on the money there!

This song is cool but I’m definitely digging some of his other tracks like Bounce and Montezuma!

  17. Yeah i agree with DJ Cal, awesome post Cody… hmm, wetness, ha ha!
so true bout the marketing thing, but i reckon his music will overcome any corporate shit that gets in this Electro-Juggernaut’s way!

  18. Really well written post – ignore maple! Great tune!

Just thought I would mention that if you live in the California area, you can win free Wolfgang Gartner tickets here:

  19. John and Barletta are great. They are two of the biggest up and coming producers in our city. However, this track is on a different level as far as that style of Electro is concerned

  20. DuckDuckRabbit says:

I’m not sure I agree with the statement in the post 100% but it’s for sure Wolfgang has changed his sound over the past couple of years to a more Electro-based sound as opposed to what he was doing before. Is he the future? I’m not sure but he’s starting to give a good run for the title
