Straight up, Santogold is popping off like crazy right now. She released her eponymous debut earlier this year and people have been remixing Creator, L.E.S. Artistes, and Lights Out since late April. Just recently she released an EXTREMELY popular collaboration with Jay-Z called Brooklyn (Go Hard) and it has received high praise – even Kanye West was talking about it on his blog just a few days ago (ok, it’s actually self promotion – he produced the track!)
She has an awesome sound, blending obvious deep dub and dancehall influences with instrumental pop, grungey rock, and electronic. Best of all, she has caught the attention of very talented remixers and producers!
