There are very few things in life that I truly love. Chocolate, Instagram, my momma, and seeing people come together to raise money for a cause. Obviously, when my friend Martin Novosel first hit me up about the charity soccer tournament that he and Paul Stix had organized I was very proud indeed. When I heard that they’d put together teams fromĀ Channel V, Elefant Traks, FBi Radio, Future Classic, inthemix, Ministry of Sound, Modular, Motorik!, Mushroom Group, Pulse Radio, Stereosonic and Sweat It Out, with players including Krewella, Nick Thayer, Van She, Canyons, What So Not and Movement represented on the pitch, with Touch Sensitive, wordlife, Lancelot, Moonbase Commander, Slow Blow, Astral DJs, Frames and LUEN DJing my heart was damn well warmed.
Sweat It Out took gold in the tourney and chose to donate the proceeds to theĀ St Vincent de Paul Society – the charity of choice of the late label-founder AJAX’s family. The event is called Music Copa and I for one can’t wait to see it get even bigger in 2014.
