Remember when I talked with RL Grime last week and he said he doubted he’d update his SoundCloud again? Well, he was lying and his latest single, Flood, is the proof. This one is a definite departure from the more mellow tunes littering his page and seems like a pretty clear-cut blend of his big-room Clockwork sound and the style he has in development from past RL Grime tunes. The eerie breakdown at 1:32 has me completely won over and I think this is much more sincere than many of the “trap bangers” I’ve come across, but I can see how some die hard fans may not agree with me.
