8prn is the alias of Vancouver producer Patrick Holland‘s solo work. He creates downtempo productions filled with field recordings, off-kilter beats, lo-fi samples, and distorted vocals. Sonically influenced by a wide range of genres, he mixes a clean, digital sound with the overdriven grit of analog. In a live setting, he implements intuitive looping and effect manipulation to provoke the audience’s emotions with a performance that goes well beyond your usual CDJs and a mixer.
