This just slid in to my inbox a couple days ago, and is definitely going to be getting some play time for the next little while. From what I can tell, Johanna Samuels has some savvy friends doing promotion for her. Anyways, the album, like the title says, is absolutely first rate. Johanna has a great voice, strongly reminiscent of Feist. The vocal sound quality and instrumentation is great, employing mostly the pretty typical jazzy/upbeat melodies you’d expect to hear from an artist in this genre.
