So I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a couple different weekly installments, and I’ve settled on a couple – the first one I’m going to start doing is hip hop posts like this one, with old and new stuff alike. I’ve been on a real hip-hop tip lately, and I have some pretty excellent stuff to share with you guys. I’ve also been playing with my new mixer a LOT. I went down to NYC last week and picked up a DJM800 and Serato, so I have just been jamming non stop. Honestly, I can’t believe I went this long with Serato – it has its problems, but it makes playing songs sooo much easier. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the dozens of burned CDs I have. On that note, I’ve selected most of the tracks for the new mix. I should be posting it some time next Sunday or Monday so make sure to check back!

Now for the tracks.. The first one is by the Cool Kids, who many who read this blog will know of. It has been remixed by 9th wonder, who is honestly one of the best hip-hop producers in the game, on par with heavy hitters Premier, RJD2 and J Dilla. The next is off a mixtape I found through a track submission to the site that is AWESOME – if you can find it, check this album out at your local record store.. it’s called Meat Tape, and it’s a mix of rap, rock, and all kinds of other stuff, with some really quality beats and rappers like Atmosphere, Brother Ali, and Turbo Nemesis. The track I’m posting from it is by Sims and Mictlan. The third is another submission from a Twista fan, and is a banger I’ll no doubt drop in the set soon. Finally, I have a track that was an artist submission that is UNEBLIEVABLE! Charles Hamilton is fucking sick, and the rappers on this track are sick too. I’ll definitely be posting some more of his stuff, and B.o.B soon so look for that!
