Party for A Cause (PFAC) is a student group at the University of Toronto that has been throwing hot parties for a couple of years now to raise money for charity. Often partnering with various faculties and colleges at the University of Toronto their parties have been out of control while raising money for Right to Play. Having worked with them as a promotional rep over the past year I have come to admire the amount of work and dedication these individuals put into this venture.

Thursday February 26th this group will be launching their first monthly event @ Augusta House (152A Augusta in Toronto’s Kensington Market). A regular event has a lot of potential to help the organization increase the amount they are able to donate to Right to Play annually. We at SalaciousSound are 110% behind this venture as it is a great way have an amazing time doing something honorable.

DJ Cal? will be closing out the night on the Ones and Twos which only provides more incentive for you to check out this night!

Hi All,

Looks like the Panic Mechanics are cooking up something spicy for next Monday. In the meantime here is a mix for Monday I came accross. DJ Cozmic Cat has spent time spinning in Philly and NY, she now calls Toronto home. From Wrongbar in Parkdale to Voglie in the Village this female DJ is all over the Toronto Scene. The easiest place to find her is probably Andy Poolhall. With a weekly spot called Eights and Nines on Thursdays, she also spins two monthly including the last Friday of the month for Synchro and the legendary lesbian Cherry Bomb on the second last Saturday of the month. This is where I first met Cozmic Cat and honestly I have developed a lot of respect for this DJ. I appreciated the fact that she went of her way to e-mail me a song I heard in one of her sets @ Andy and recognize how hard she is working – she plays multiple gigs accross the city a week. Make sure you check her out!

]]> Last night the Panic Mechanics killed a set on College St. @ Harmony Lounge. Right beside Strangelove and the well established Dance Like You Fuck, the much more intimate Harmony rocked to dirty house music that made everyone want to dance. Still waiting on the date for their next gig, I know we wont miss out on their Salacious Sound!
