I’m very happy to be writing another installment of the Tuesday Top Ten Tracks. Â I’ve taken a long hiatus from what is our most popular content item on Salacious Sound, and a lot of great music has come out in the mean time. Â A few of the tracks on the second most recent Top Ten are still in my playlist and deserve mention here. Â La Roux, for example, has incredible replayability in my books. Â I’m also still very fond of the Lifelike track and the Caspa remix of Deadmau5′ I Remember. Â I hope you guys will agree with me when I say these songs are this week’s top ten tracks.

Tuesday’s Top Ten Tracks: Aug 25, 2009

A fair bit of movement in the chart this week as you guys can see! Â I have a couple fast favorites this week that have moved way to the top and displaced a couple very high quality songs, and I’ve dropped a few that I feel have gotten a bit tired. Â The White Lies track is just so hot I had to give it the number one spot, but I think my favorite on the list right now is the Confusion Girl remix – it was actually really difficult to order it with the Bulletproof remix and Sunset by Lifelike because they’re all just so good. Â I’m guessing that Sunset will definitely have more staying power with me, as will the Nero Remix of Blinded By the Lights. Â Hope you guys like the list – lemme know what you think.

Tuesday’s Top Ten Tracks – Aug 18, 2009

Tuesday’s Top Ten Tracks is one of our oldest feature types now, dating back several months. Â Over those months the format has varied very little, until recently when it was announced that they would become an editorial top 10 rather than the top 10 most downloaded tracks of the week. Â I’m personally interested to see how this shapes up over the coming months, because I’ve learned a lot about music and my own tastes by looking back – Salacious Sound allows me to do that. Â If you’re bored, I really encourage you to use our category system which has become pretty extensive. Â At the bottom of this post you’ll find a category label ‘Tuesday’s Top Ten Tracks’ that you can follow to find all of our top 10s EVER. Â Check it out!

My personal favorite on the list this week is the Frankmusik track. Â Let me know what you guys think of it! Â I think the remix adds a LOT to the original.

Italian and Australian House

For years now the Australians have been well ahead of North America in terms of house music output. Â Artists from Madison Avenue, Cassie, Kylie Minogue, and Vandalism have been topping mainstream charts with house and electro pop for years now. Â This stuff by the now defunct House Boulevard is pretty typical sounding and probably poppy by standard, but it has that ‘euro sound’ that is popularizing nu-disco right now in the US. Â As for the Sgt Slick track, I know that it’s from last year but it’s good to find something that isn’t the Crookers style electro sound coming from Southern Europe. Â He’s as image conscious as Don Diablo, and exactly what I imagine most Italian DJ/Producers to present themselves as.
