Rejjie Snow has become one of my new music obsessions after watching this really well-shot freestyle video featuring King Krule affiliates, Sub Luna City. I’ve been itching for more ever since I listened to–and fell in love with—his five track EP, Rejovich, so I was happy to see a new music video on my Twitter feed this morning. The piano driven track, Nights Over Georgia, off his forthcoming album, Dear Annie, mixes Snow’s usual deep, Dublin voice with his smooth, jazz-influenced singing, which took me by surprise. This mixture of tones, initiated by several beat switch-ups, works really well together, in a natural, yet off-putting way.
Dear Annie is set to be released at the end of this summer… hopefully.
