Now that we have all that holiday madness behind us… it’s time to get back to some good old fashioned Bass Report. I’ve got plenty of new tunes to work with, so I hope your ears are pleased with this week’s selections!

#1 Blu Mar Ten – Nobody Home (Kastle VIP)

Kastle‘s new rework of Blu Mar Ten‘s ‘Nobody Here’ is relaxing enough to put you to sleep, but contains the power to ignite a dance floor just the same. During a recent interview, DJ Nonames of Foreign Beggars gave the San Fran producer his stamp of approval, and I’ve been paying extra close attention to Kastle‘s releases since then. I simply love the substance and complexity of texture he brings to his tracks, and haven’t been let down yet!

#2 Savant – Wildstyle

This title sums up ‘Wildstyle’ perfectly. The track is all over the place, as driving electro grooves are weaved with a plethora of what might be insane metal guitar solos converted to suit the style at hand. As always, you can hear Savant‘s video game influences, and will find some nintendo samples in there as well. This guy always brings the energy!

#3 Eliminate – Through My Mind

With bone crushing bass, and haunting vocal samples sounding somewhere close to Adventure Club, ‘Through My Mind’ has convinced me to keep an eye on this producer in the future. He’s been nice enough to throw us a free download, don’t miss out!

#4 Fever Ray – Now’s The Only Time I Know (The Killabits Remix)

The Killabits took the words right out of my mouth, posting this on their soundcloud… “Everything sounds the same these days, so we’re trying to make something different. We’ve been hard at work taking bits and ideas from a variety of different influences, putting our own spin on it, and doing something new with it.” Definitely a mish-mash of all sorts of genres. Very Interesting!

#5 Laura Mvula – She (Jakwob ‘Dont Stop’ Bootleg)

Driven by extremely deep bass wobble, Jakwob nails down another killer remix. I don’t even know what to call his style these days! I like that.
