Madeon is really picking up steam! In the past his releases have been few and far between, but in recent weeks we’ve been treated to Icarus and now this! His remixes are legendary, with his remixes of Raise Your Weapon and The Island both making my list of favorite songs of the last year. My heart jumped a bit in anticipation of his latest creation.

If you follow my posts, it’s no secret that I am one of the French prodigy’s biggest fans, but I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little disappointed. While the song is instantly recognizable as Madeon, it doesn’t carry the same raw, Daft Punk-infused joy that his other tracks have. In the past I’ve found his unique melodies to be the most compelling part of his tracks, but this one is just a bit lacking. As the song hit the 2:30 mark, and the synths started pounding out chords, I started to feel the Madeon magic, but all too soon it turned back into a wailing guitar riff that I, personally, don’t think has the same appeal as the rest of his classic funky house style. I’d love to hear what you think, go ahead and leave a comment with your review!
