The Re-Blogging Question.

I find music that I enjoy and decide to post it. That is music blogging at its most basic level. I recently spoke with an artist who discussed the pain of bloggers they haven’t spoken to re-blogging their tracks with write-ups that don’t resonate with their sound. I am not really saying much about this song, and that isn’t out of fear for being that one blog to offend MGMT, they are far to big for that. In any case thanks MGMT, we appreciate the fact that you are willing to give out your singles for free download. The internet is the new radio, and it used to be important for artists to get on the radio, I’m glad you appreciate us, and we will continue to appreciate you.

Artists are concerned that people are re-blogging their tracks? Really?
That sounds fucking ridiculous. That’s like saying “Only a few people are cool enough to listen to our music.”

If these artists want to live in obscurity, then maybe they should stop putting out songs.

I reblog stuff all the time, and always try to give credit to the original blog and links back to the artists page. If the artist doesn’t like my opinion of their music, they can go fuck themselves.

PS: SalaciousSounds, you guys always drop some sick music. Keep it up.
