From a purely technical perspective, I agree that the House Boulevard track has pretty standard poppy elements, but the percussion has a full punch that many American house producers neglect. Full, as in I feel that it covers a wide frequency range from low to high; from my own experience, this is one of the big factors contributing to the bouncy feel of a house track. The Sgt Slick track doesn't have that same bounce, using electro synths to cover the upper ranges (so to me, the sound quality isn't as dynamic).

But in terms of overall appeal, these two tracks are exemplary. Just straight up house, and no gimmicks. Vandalism's beats sound a bit old school in a good way.
