Emma Lee Remix Competition Submissions #12 of 12

emmalee remixcomp submissionsMany of you are thinking ‘finally – it’s about time!’ Well we feel that way too! Some of the submissions we received in our latest remix competition are absolutely brilliant, and I’m very happy to be sharing these with you today. The interpretations range over a broad span of genres, including reggae, house, and I have split the submissions up in to 12 separate posts so that you can navigate the tracks easily – you’ll find a link to the category view below that will allow you to access the rest of the posts.

In the coming week we hope to collect your feedback about the submissions and post a list of ours, and the label’s/Emma Lee’s favorites. Leave us a note!

    +1 Vice

  2. Marvul says:

They’re up! Looks like you guys missed one though, I submitted my remix a while ago.

  3. Hooks says:

wow so many remixes. this is going to take a while to get through all of these. my favs out of these 4 were killabits and vice.

  4. Liam says:

VERY NICE takes it here. While I love the wompy DnB from Vice, I don’t think they offer a very honest interpretation of the song. The hyped-up beat really overpowers the vocals in this case. Ketil’s is nice, but not dance enough for my liking. The Killabits know where they’re going, but aren’t quite heavy enough in this track.

  5. VERY NICE says:

Ketil’s remix might not be very dancey, but the vocals themselves aren’t really very dancey themselves to begin with. Therefore, in Liam’s words I think Ketil’s version is the best honest interpretation of the song – plus the production value is not bad at all in this one.

  6. Marvul says:

    I re-submitted mine to remixcompetition@salacioussound.com

I’m hoping it’ll get posted, haha.

  7. Splattermonkey says:

Once again I agree with Liam. VERY NICE indeed.

  8. CharmWorka says:

Hey Marvul, my remix isn’t there either. I probably named the mp3 incorrectly. Very sad, and it is also very sad that I don’t get an answer from the people at salacioussound, I wrote them a mail about it. Common guys, we have submitted the remixes in time and we have put many hours of work in it so give us another chance! Please, I just want people to hear my remix!

  9. ted says:

when can we see some feedback from emma and company ????
taking a bit too long now….

  10. Sparta says:

Don’t worry Marvul yours is not the only one – mine is also absent. I hope mine gets posted too lol…

  11. sparta says:

Hey marvul, mine too seems to have been missed. I hope they put them too.

  12. Ant On Wax says:

Its not taking long at all, i am waiting since january 31st 2009 for the results of Emiliana Torrini Remix Contest together with 200 other composers, and roughtrade still did not give any information about any winner

  13. ted says:

you’re serious ?? damn that is not cool.
there are a lot of remix competitions where i got sweaty balls when reading the do’s and don’ts.. some ask money for the accapella’s and some even want have you resign the whole track and even take full ownership of the track..

i read the twitter page of emma as well and i have not seen 1 twitter mention about the submitted remixes after the 10th of august. just the normal bladibla tweets no one reads or cares about.. sorry not to be rude…..

  14. ted says:

well it seems like emma is quicker with responding then salacioussound…

    Hi hello howdy,

So, we decided to have a remix contest for my song “Until We Meet Again” and received an overwhelming 47 entries!!! It was so much fun listening to everyone’s interpretation of my song.

My peeps and I are still making our final decision for who the winner will be, but I thought I would let you know you can have a little listen to the entries over on SalaciousSound.com, the website kind enough to host this contest for us. Tell me your top picks!

For me personally – my faves came from:
    - No Big Deal
    - Jordane G.
    - Curtis Wang
    - James Merrifield
    - Gabriel Maga
    - Timo Rozendal
    - Kikhausen & Spied

So even if you don’t win, I wanted to post my personal faves so those people know! Excellent work all! Good luck!

    Emma-Lee
    xoxo

  22. The Monarch says:

    hahaha awesome question.

  23. vice says:

hey guys, i’m really glad some of you like the remix i did. the reason the vocals are quiet is because i hadn’t found the stems to the remix yet, so i bootlegged it off myspace :/ haha. considering that i think it came out pretty nice.
anyway, since then i’ve got the stems and fixes the vocal so it sounds nice. She has a beautiful voice and i really wanted to bring that out in the new version.
hopefully you’ll all get to hear it soon ;)
