Salacious Sunday Hip Hop Hits 3
Big Daddy Jizan
22nd February 2009

Today, for our weekly Sunday Hip Hop post I’ve got one new track and a few throw-backs that didn’t get the attention they should have.

This first song is a new jam by M.O.P… a hardcore duo from Brooklyn that I hadn’t heard form since they dropped their hit “Ante Up” in 2000. This track brings the same intensity and raw energy that made “Ante Up” so popular, and has been in steady rotation on my ipod over the last week. Look out for their new album The Foundation which will be coming out later this year… with tracks produced by DJ Premier and The Alchemist, I’m thinking it will be worth a listen.

The Cam’ron hasn’t made any headlines lately, this collab with Kanye reminds me of why tracks like “Hey Ma” and “Killa Cam” got so much playing time when Purple Haze first came out. This song is off the same album, and was released in 2004 when Kanye West hadn’t become a house-hold name yet… that said, I think it’s definitely worth a listen.

The third track is by a hip-hop duo we’ve talked about before, but who still don’t get nearly as much attention as they deserve. Jedi Mind Tricks are well known in the underground community, and here they teamed up with Wu-Tang legend Killah Priest, to drop one of the sickest beats I’ve heard from them. This track is off their 2004 album “Legacy of Blood” and is one of my personal favorites.

Enjoy,
BDJ
