Yea of course I wish I was Diplo - that guy gets gigs with amazing artists. That said, I have always thought he was a better DJ than producer.

It makes me sad man, but like anything, just because you slap the word 'experimental' on something does not make it good. Hopefully Diplo's upcoming works don't sound as rushed as these tracks did.

yo. stop hatin on diplo. his music styles are not appreciated by everyone expecting him to put out electro commercial bangers, his style is and has always been different with elements of bmore and world, i quite liked the first remix and though there is no huge build up or dirty bassline it would be great for midset to take the energy down a bit before bringing it back up again, plus u all wish u were diplo. go on admit it!!!
peace.

And now that I've actually listened to the tracks:

The first one isn't that exciting. Some parts of it remind me of "Toy Soldier" from her last album, though, and I think the two would be interesting if mixed together (maybe on a prerecorded set so you could really fuck with em). He also got really lazy with the vocal track. Britney sings "There are two types of guys out there; the ones that hang with me, and the ones that are scared." Diplo, assuming you can't hear the lowered vocals clearly anyway, uses "and the ones that observe" from earlier in the song. It kinda threw me off and makes the track seem even more like a rush job.

The second one is along the same lines until about 2/3 of the way through. I wasn't sure why I liked it until I realized that Diplo used the same sample on his mixtape for M.I.A. on Bucky Dun Gun. So...that explains that. Yeah.

I have to say, though, that Diplo's one-off remixes are always a grab bag. He's in his element when he's doing continuous mixes, but too often he tries to pull the same energy into his single-track remixes without regard for progression or utility (i.e., a lot of his remixes sound like they were pulled out of a mixtape and played standalone).

I like the Snowcone Remix other than the gross miscalculation of the key signature at the beginning of the song. It's got that Italo vibe that compliments electro nicely.

Yea, neither track manages to make this Circus really listenable beyond the chorus. Gotta agree that the only way this song is getting mixed well is in a mash-up... most of it is just too shitty to do anything with.

LOL.. I respect those guys for what they're doing, but both the review and the track were absolutely awful so I had to say something.
