YEEEAAAHHH BOYYYYYYIEEEE!!!! FLAVA FLAV!!!! I’ve got 3 slammin’ salacious sounds to discuss tonight! So Heeeerrre it goes:
House music legends Laidback Luke and Benny Benassi remix Break the House Down by mashing it up with Public Enemy’s Bring the Noise to take an unbelievable track to the next level. At the end of the song, when the sample hits, it’s a beautiful moment for anyone who loved PE or played Tony Hawk Pro Skater.
From 2 legends to 2 newcomers known as Caramel and Vanilla, two DJs from France named DJ Imix and DJ Energy, we don’t lose a step. You know why I love house, because as a kid i always loved disco! You have to know where you came from to know where you are going. This young pair sampled Earth Wind and Fire’s Boggie Wonderland to bring it into the 21st century!
The final song that I bring to you this evening is a remix of Return of the Mack. While Public Enemy and Earth Wind and Fire both had long careers and were considered legends in their respective genres, Mark Morrison’s time in the limelight was comparatively short lived. Nevertheless Return of the Mack is a classic track that deserves some praise. Most importantly the vocals were a great opportunity for someone to update the track. Spencer & Hill‘s remix of the song is brilliant! It’s a song worthy of my love! I gave it 5 stars before it finished playing and honestly believe it is one of my favorite tracks of the year!
